Potential-OT Training
OT training

Parent/carer training
Remote or in-person training sessions can be offered to parents, carers or family units, tailored to the need of their young person. The content of the sessions can be used to deliver training on certain OT-related areas relevant to the child/young person or can be used to support and review the implementation of advice and strategies in the home setting and/or to discuss and problem-solve issues that have arisen in relation to the child/young person’s OT needs.
OT training has also been delivered as part of parent workshops/support networks, either as one-off sessions or as a 6-week block, which affords caregivers an opportunity to network with, and learn from, people who share similar lived experiences.

Staff/professionals training
It is becoming increasingly more important to establish a sustainable and holistic way of meeting the rising level of need in school-aged children and young people. As such, I offer bespoke training sessions to schools and Alternative Provisions, tailored to the needs of their learners. The training sessions can be offered as a whole-school approach, to a cluster of schools, or as part of SEND networking meetings, to enhance the continued professional development of staff and to help ensure they are informed and confident in meeting the needs of their learners. The length and content of the training sessions can be customised and delivered as part of Inset days or Twilight training sessions. Whilst each training session can be written to reflect the needs of the setting(s), information on the core training packages can be found here: [inset link to PDF].
I also welcome the opportunity to deliver bespoke training sessions that may merge the topics or cover a different OT related area altogether. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like to arrange a training session or to discuss your setting’s training needs.
